The Algerian national weightlifting team has secured a total of 34 medals following the second day of the African and Arab championships currently held in Mostaganem. The tally includes 9 gold, 7 silver, and 18 bronze medals, split between 14 medals from the African championship and 20 from the Arab event. Lamees Idriss led the performance with six gold medals in the cadet category, while Anes Selim added three golds in the Arab championship. Additional contributions were made by Seifeddine Djebari, Moussa Haroun, Bouchra Saadi, Abdelmoumene Chetoui, and Fatima Bendada across various weight classes. The competition, hosted at the "Bab El Habib" hall with 340 participants from 29 nations, is scheduled to conclude on October 13.
