Algerian judiciary launches probe into organized food waste and price speculation
The Algiers Court has ordered immediate security investigations under the supervision of the National Center for Fighting Organized Crime, following reports of individuals using trucks to dump edible food and vegetables in isolated areas. The prosecutor's office stated that these actions are intended to create artificial shortages and manipulate market prices. Authorities have been tasked with identifying, tracking, and prosecuting those behind these networks, including financiers and beneficiaries. The public prosecutor emphasized that such behavior constitutes a direct attack on food security and the national economy, and urged citizens to cooperate by reporting any similar activities to the competent authorities to help safeguard the country's economic stability.
