A technical commission has been formed in Tiaret province to oversee and guide the 2026-2027 sowing season. Led by the wali, Abdelouahab Bertima, the body aims to synchronize efforts between various agricultural stakeholders, including banks and insurance companies. The mission includes ensuring the availability of seeds and fertilizers, simplifying administrative access to seasonal credits like the 'R'fig' loan, and providing technical advice to farmers throughout the growing cycle. The commission will also manage the upcoming harvest and storage logistics to ensure timely payments. This initiative covers a target area of over 270,000 hectares for cereal production, 50,000 hectares of which are irrigated, with the commission submitting detailed progress reports to authorities.
