Biodiversity COP17: President Tebboune Calls for Concrete Actions Over Commitments

At the 17th Conference of the Parties on Biodiversity (COP17) held in Armenia, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune called for a shift from international pledges to tangible environmental results. In an address delivered by the President of the Council of the Nation, he emphasized the need to measure progress under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Algeria outlined its national strategy for 2025-2030, including 93 specific measures, an expanded network of protected areas, the revival of the Green Dam project, and the launch of the National Seed Bank. President Tebboune further advocated for increased financial support for developing nations and enhanced international cooperation to safeguard global ecosystems.
