Recent security investigations have uncovered a conspiracy aimed at undermining Algeria's stability by intentionally igniting forest fires across several provinces. A documentary broadcast by national media outlets detailed the plot, which was orchestrated by external actors with the support of local agents, primarily the individual known as Amir Boukhors. Confessions from detainees, including Abdelkrim Boutemina and Abdelraouf Amrani, confirmed they were tasked with setting fires in the provinces of Constantine and Guelma under the promise of money and wealth. The investigation also identified Yacine Boulagroun and Islam Benyahia as key figures in these sabotage operations, with the latter fleeing to Europe via illegal migration routes after completing his assignment. The report highlights how these individuals used extortion and financial manipulation to recruit victims and fuel unrest. Authorities reiterated that thanks to the awareness of the Algerian people and the resilience of state institutions, the country remains steadfast against these attempts to threaten its national security and social cohesion.
