An Algerian team consisting of five high school students, accompanied by a coach and a supervisor, secured a gold medal at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 robotics competition, held in Incheon, South Korea, from October 7 to 10. The team received the Jackie Bezos Award for International Enthusiasm, recognizing their collaborative spirit during the event, which hosted participants from over 190 countries. This achievement has elevated Algeria into the top 20 nations in the competition's history. As part of their program, the students visited the Korea Fire Institute (NFRI) to study fire prevention and risk management techniques. Supported by Samsung Electronics Algeria and the Altis Training Center, this success highlights the potential of young Algerian talent in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
