Tassili Travail Aérien, a subsidiary of Sonatrach, has acquired two Cessna SkyCourier aircraft from Textron Aviation, marking a first for the African continent. Notably, these are the first units globally to be equipped for aeromedical evacuation missions. Scheduled to arrive in Algiers by late October 2026, the twin-engine aircraft will be stationed in Algiers and Hassi Messaoud. The planes are designed for versatility, capable of handling passenger transport and special missions in remote areas, including operations on short or unpaved runways, thereby enhancing the operational reliability of the national energy sector.
