Algeria strengthens automotive supply chain with 200 local subcontractors
During a working visit to Oum El Bouaghi, Minister of Industry Farid Kourtel stated that Algeria is moving toward a fully integrated automotive production model. The minister highlighted the role of 200 domestic companies that currently produce spare parts, vehicle accessories, and lubricants. To support this growth, a new database is being created to connect these subcontractors with vehicle assembly plants. In the town of Aïn M'lila, Kourtel inaugurated several private industrial projects, including a filter manufacturing plant worth 1.195 billion dinars and a lubricant factory that cost 1.2 billion dinars and created 207 direct jobs. The minister emphasized the necessity of using local raw materials and maintaining high quality standards to boost the national industrial base.
