The administrative district of Ali Mendjeli in Constantine is suffering from a severe traffic crisis due to an almost complete lack of pedestrian crossings at major intersections and arterial roads. This has resulted in persistent traffic jams and several pedestrian accidents, particularly around commercial centers and the 400-housing unit district. The danger also extends to school zones, where parents are forced to accompany their children daily due to speeding vehicles and the absence of speed bumps. Despite repeated calls from residents, local municipal authorities have indicated that they are currently studying the issue and planning to implement necessary infrastructure, including speed bumps and pedestrian crossings, to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
