Algeria and South Africa: A Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Africa's Global Voice

State Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, highlighted in Algiers the shared responsibility of Algeria and South Africa in promoting Africa's influence on the international stage. During the closing of the ministerial meeting following up on the bilateral high commission, Attaf noted that the partnership is rooted in a history of solidarity and a mutual commitment to international law and self-determination, citing the Palestinian and Western Sahara issues as key examples. The Minister emphasized the need to expand cooperation in energy, mining, manufacturing, and digital innovation, while improving air and maritime connectivity to boost trade. These efforts, guided by the leadership of Presidents Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Cyril Ramaphosa, resulted in a new ministerial monitoring mechanism to prepare for the eighth high-level bilateral session in Pretoria.
