MC Alger suffered a 2-0 defeat away against Nigeria's Rangers this Sunday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round. Despite Rangers playing with ten men following an early red card for their goalkeeper, MC Alger failed to capitalize on the numerical advantage, ending the first half in a goalless draw. The match dynamics shifted in the 53rd minute when MC Alger's Benhaoua was sent off. Rangers eventually broke the deadlock with an 83rd-minute penalty and added a second goal in the 87th minute, confirming a difficult loss for the Algerian side.
