Schengen visa procedures set to ease for business travelers
The European Commission is exploring reforms to the visa code aimed at simplifying Schengen travel for business purposes. The proposal includes the creation of unified lists for trusted companies, allowing their employees to benefit from faster processing and fewer required documents. Additionally, authorities are considering long-term, multiple-entry visas valid for over five years for frequent travelers. A formal legislative proposal is expected in the first quarter of 2027. Until then, existing regulations remain in place, and business travelers must continue to follow current consular requirements.
