Senegal Launches GouvNum to Drive National Digital Transformation

On October 18, Senegalese Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Mohamed Lô officially inaugurated the Digital Governance Committee (GouvNum). Operating under the Prime Minister's office, this committee aims to streamline national digital projects, ensure data security, and prevent redundant costs within the public sector. The initiative is a key component of the country's 2050 transition agenda. Senegal aims to achieve significant milestones by 2034, including raising the digital sector's contribution to GDP to 15%, creating 150,000 jobs, digitizing 90% of administrative procedures, and providing digital connectivity and IDs to 90% of citizens. The project is supported by the European Union, Germany, and France through the 'Goin’Digital' program.
