At the national meeting with economic operators organized by the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced Algeria's transition to a liberal economy by 2027, while maintaining the state's social character. The President highlighted the country's progress in reducing imports from $62 billion to $42 billion, driven by stronger domestic production in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and energy. With a goal of reaching a $400 billion GDP, the state is focusing on industrial and agricultural growth. To facilitate investment, the President announced the launch of a new "Single Window" system on January 1, 2027, designed to streamline administrative procedures. Additionally, to combat market speculation and regulate agricultural prices, a new public entity will be established to purchase surplus production from farmers.
