As part of a national strategy to reorganize port activities, car import operations for private operators will be relocated from the port of Mostaganem to the port of Djen Djen by December 31, 2026. This measure follows instructions from the President of the Republic to dedicate the port of Mostaganem exclusively to imports by public institutions and companies. The Minister of the Interior and Transport confirmed this during an official meeting, highlighting the goal of optimizing port infrastructure performance through better specialization and redistribution of commercial activities. This initiative continues the efforts initiated during the Minister's field visit to Mostaganem last September.
