Algeria’s Non-Oil Exports Reach Nearly $4 Billion

Algeria’s non-hydrocarbon exports saw a 10% increase during the first eight months of 2026, totaling approximately $4 billion. Zouhir Moussaoui, a central director at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, noted that the food processing sector grew by 15%, reaching $213 million. Algerian goods, such as beverages, pasta, biscuits, and sauces, are currently exported to 30 countries globally. Moussaoui highlighted that Algeria has achieved self-sufficiency in various food categories, having previously imported $28 million worth of biscuits. He emphasized that the primary goal is to sustain this export momentum to reduce the trade deficit and solidify the reputation of "Made in Algeria" products abroad.
