President Tebboune highlights economic growth and warns against market manipulation

In his annual address to economic operators, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune stated that Algeria has achieved an economic growth rate of 3.9%, ranking it as the third-largest economy in Africa. The President highlighted the country's progress in local production, noting that domestic medicine manufacturing now covers 84% of needs. He also noted that Algeria has ceased gasoline imports since 2023 and has shifted from importing condiments like ketchup and mayonnaise to exporting them. Tebboune criticized speculative practices affecting prices, specifically mentioning potatoes. He also reaffirmed the national target of producing a 100% Algerian-made vehicle by the end of 2028.
