The international future of 20-year-old Red Star defender Elyaz Zidane remains uncertain as he navigates the early stages of his professional career. The former Real Madrid youth player, currently competing in the French second division, has stated that he is not rushing to choose between France, Algeria, and Spain, despite being eligible for all three. Having represented France extensively at youth levels, including winning the 2022 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, he is still eligible to switch his international allegiance under FIFA regulations. Elyaz insists his current focus is on his development at club level. This follows the decision of his brother, goalkeeper Luca Zidane, to represent Algeria in 2025.
