King Charles III hosted Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at Windsor Castle for a state visit, marking the first such visit by an Omani leader to Britain since 1982. During the reception, the King offered a greeting in Arabic, incorporating a prophetic hadith that praises the character of the Omani people. The visit served to reinforce the enduring historical relationship between the two countries, highlighted by a formal exchange of honors: King Charles bestowed the Order of the Grand Knight upon the Sultan, who in return presented the British monarch with the Order of Al-Said and Queen Camilla with the Order of Oman, First Class. Sultan Haitham bin Tariq has led the sultanate since 2020, following the passing of Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
