The Stock Exchange Organization and Supervision Commission (COSOB) has adopted a new regulatory framework to define and govern 'green' securities within the Algerian financial market. This initiative is designed to mobilize capital for sustainable development projects, such as clean transport and climate change mitigation. To ensure transparency and investor confidence, issuers are required to establish a green reference framework and submit their projects to independent external reviews. This measure aims to bolster the role of the stock market in supporting the country's ecological and climate transition.
