Health: Algeria and Amgen partner to address cardiovascular diseases

The Algerian Ministry of Health and the U.S.-based biotech firm Amgen have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at bolstering prevention and awareness regarding cardiovascular diseases. Yasmine Aït Yahia, General Manager of Amgen Algeria, confirmed the agreement, which was signed alongside Professor Fourrar, the Ministry's Director General of Prevention and Health Promotion. Given that cardiovascular conditions represent a significant public health challenge in Algeria, this partnership seeks to support ongoing efforts to mitigate risk factors. While the deal reflects a joint commitment to patient care, specific operational details, including deployment timelines and funding, have not yet been disclosed. This initiative follows recent efforts by the Algerian government to collaborate with international pharmaceutical leaders to improve national healthcare outcomes.
