Despite the end of his CAF-imposed suspension, Luca Zidane's spot in the Algerian national team squad remains precarious. Ahead of the double-header against Togo in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, manager Brahim Hemdani is considering other goalkeeping options. The technical staff is reportedly concerned about Zidane's consistency following the 2026 World Cup, specifically citing his performances at Leganés and the high volume of goals conceded. Consequently, the manager may favor Melvin Mastil or Abdelatif Ramdane for the upcoming November camp. Meanwhile, the competition for the third goalkeeper position is ongoing, with experienced domestic league players like Alexis Guendouz and Alexandre Oukidja currently under observation.
