The Zionist occupation has established a specialized military unit to monitor Palestinian social media activity, aiming to identify individuals for arrest and conduct field raids. Since October 7, 2023, this unit has tracked online content deemed as "incitement" or support for resistance, turning digital expressions into pretexts for home incursions and detentions. The repression extends beyond social media posts to include the demolition of monuments, the removal of national symbols, and the shutdown of institutions, such as over 24 charities, 40 currency exchange offices, and various printing houses. With over 1,000 field interventions recorded, these actions demonstrate an escalation in surveillance and punitive measures, effectively transforming online platforms into a tool for widespread control across the occupied West Bank.
