Algeria mourns the loss of veteran freedom fighter and statesman Ali Haroun
Ali Haroun, a prominent veteran of the Algerian War of Independence, has passed away at the age of 99. A key figure in the FLN's France Federation, he played a vital role in political, media, and diplomatic efforts, as well as providing legal counsel for Algerian detainees in French courts. His post-independence career included serving as a member of the first National Constituent Assembly, Minister Delegate for Human Rights in 1991, and a member of the High Committee of State from 1992 to 1994.
