The Association of Friends of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic has denounced the intensified repressive actions by Moroccan authorities against Sahrawi prisoners currently on hunger strike. The group highlights the alarming health status of the detainees and the failure to honor previous commitments made to Naama Asfari. According to the association, prisoners have been dispersed across various jails to prevent communication, while their families face repeated denials of visitation rights. Additionally, seven supporters who gathered in Rabat to demand information on the prisoners were detained. In light of these events, the organization is calling on the UN Security Council to fulfill its protection mandate during its upcoming late-October session and to push for the release of the Sahrawi detainees.
