As part of the Ministry of Culture and Arts' strategy to prioritize youth in cultural policy, two international festivals have been officially established. The International Festival for the Children's and Youth Book Industry, created on June 22, 2026, will be held in Algiers to foster high-quality production, support professionals in the publishing sector, and improve digital and printing standards. The second event, the International Festival of Literature and Culture for Children and Youth, established on July 1, 2026, will take place in the wilaya of Ouargla, serving as a cultural bridge to Africa and the international community. These measures aim to institutionalize cultural action for youth, moving beyond one-off events toward a sustainable, specialized industry. Furthermore, previous regulations have been updated to ensure that all efforts are now focused on promoting literature as a foundation for the cultural development of the younger generation.
