In a letter to the Security Council, he asserted that Western Sahara remains a decolonization issue and that the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination is non-negotiable. Meanwhile, the British government confirmed that it maintains regular diplomatic contact with the Polisario Front as part of its support for the UN-led political process. Minister of State Stephen Doughty noted that recent meetings were held in London and New York, underscoring the UK’s commitment to a fair political solution based on the UN Charter.
