The President of the National Communication Observatory of Niger, Ibrahim Manzo Diallo, concluded a working visit to Algeria at the invitation of the President of the National Independent Audiovisual Regulatory Authority, Ammar Bendjedda. The visit focused on establishing a solid institutional partnership to oversee the media and audiovisual sectors. Both sides agreed on the importance of addressing the challenges posed by digital platforms through coordinated regulation and the combat against fake news. The partnership includes provisions for training journalists and technical staff, exchanging expertise, and fostering ties between Algerian and Nigerien media outlets. The long-term goal is to contribute to a continental network of audiovisual regulators. During the visit, the Nigerien delegation toured key Algerian media institutions and historical sites, with plans already underway for a reciprocal visit to Niamey to further solidify this cooperation.
