The 2026-2027 agricultural ploughing and sowing campaign officially kicked off last Thursday in the wilaya of Béjaïa, specifically in the commune of Timezrit. Local authorities, led by the wilaya's secretary general, oversaw the launch event, which brought together various agricultural stakeholders and elected officials. The campaign targets a total of 4,600 hectares for cereal production, covering durum wheat, soft wheat, barley, and triticale. To ensure the campaign's success, significant technical resources—including over 1,100 tractors and various specialized machinery—have been mobilized alongside the supply of seeds and fertilizers. Officials emphasized the importance of synergy between agricultural departments, banks, and farmers to ensure effective field follow-up and to provide the necessary support to boost local agricultural yields.
