Official Protection Plan Launched for the Archaeological Site of 'Achir' in Médéa

A ministerial decree issued on July 16, 2026, has established a formal protection and restoration plan for the 'Achir' archaeological site in the municipality of Kef Lakhdar, Médéa. The regulation provides a structured framework for conservation efforts, ensuring the preservation and promotion of the site's historical significance. This initiative is part of a broader set of measures that also includes three archaeological sites in Tissemsilt province: Aïn Sfa, Taza, and Aïn Takria, which were subject to similar decrees in June 2026. These planning tools are designed to streamline future restoration work and integrate archaeological preservation into sectoral development programs for the benefit of future generations.
