Iran warns of expanded retaliation against US targets

Tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high, with Iran warning that any new military aggression will lead to a broadened response targeting key infrastructure previously left untouched. While US President Donald Trump has stated he will not conduct strikes before the November 3 midterm elections, he continues to leave the door open for military action thereafter. Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, dismissed US responses to Iranian conditions regarding the Strait of Hormuz as inadequate. Tehran has specifically threatened to target US technological interests in the Gulf, including subsea cables and data centers, highlighting that its drone and missile technology offers a cost-effective way to inflict significant damage on high-value American assets.
