Algeria Launches Single Investment Window Led by a Minister of State-Rank Official

Algeria has established a Single Investment Window through presidential decree no. 26-326, dated October 12, 2026. This new entity acts as the sole, integrated point of contact for both domestic and international investors, handling all necessary documentation, permits, and approvals from project registration to operation. The institution is headed by a CEO appointed by the President, holding the rank of Minister of State and reporting directly to the Prime Minister. Its board includes ministers of the Interior, Finance, Industry, Trade, and Tourism. Key responsibilities involve managing economic land, developing industrial zones, and supervising project implementation. The office is organized into nine specialized divisions, covering areas such as business incorporation, fiscal and customs matters, utility connections, and social security. The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (APPI) will continue its operations until this new system is fully functional.
