The Association of Algerian Women in Belgium hosted a cultural event in Brussels, held at the 'La Casbah' café and the Grand-Place, to celebrate Algeria's traditional heritage. The showcase featured the white haïk and the Oranian blouza, highlighting their deep historical significance. Association president Faiza Othmani emphasized that the blouza is an authentic piece of Algerian identity, refuting any external appropriation claims. With the Algerian Ministry of Culture and Arts currently seeking Unesco recognition for the art of the blouza, the event successfully promoted national heritage and strengthened cultural ties for the Algerian diaspora and local visitors alike.
