In his annual address to economic operators, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune highlighted Algeria's economic growth rate of 3.9%, positioning the country as the third-largest economy in Africa. The President detailed achievements in domestic production, noting that pharmaceutical self-sufficiency has reached 84% over the last five years and that gasoline imports have ceased since 2023. He further announced plans to manufacture a fully 'made in Algeria' vehicle by the end of 2028 and praised the transformation of the local food industry, which has shifted from an import-dependent sector to one that now exports high-quality products.
