Polisario Front warns UN Security Council over US draft resolution
Sidi Mohamed Omar, the Polisario Front's representative to the United Nations, has sent a stern message to the UN Security Council rejecting the US-drafted text regarding the MINURSO mission. The representative argued that the draft resolution reflects the Moroccan perspective, marking a significant departure from international law and the decolonization framework. Omar emphasized that endorsing such a position undermines the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and risks regional instability. He further warned that the Polisario Front would be forced to withdraw from the entire peace process should the draft proceed without fundamental amendments.
