The Chlef Electricity and Gas Distribution Directorate has successfully installed 572,142 carbon monoxide detectors in residential homes across the province. This safety initiative, aimed at preventing gas-related asphyxiation, reached 286,071 customers, providing two devices per household, with a completion rate of 98.62%. Alongside the installation program, the directorate has intensified technical maintenance on over 4,000 kilometers of gas networks and various distribution hubs ahead of the winter season. Public awareness campaigns are also ongoing. The directorate urges customers who have not yet received their devices to visit their local commercial agencies with a gas bill and ID card to collect their free detectors.
