The Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure has dismissed false claims regarding the withdrawal of Islamic Development Bank funding for the Algiers-Tamanrasset railway. The project consists of two segments with separate financing: the 495 km section connecting Laghouat, Ghardaïa, and El Menea is funded by the African Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, while the 1,080 km stretch from El Menea to Tamanrasset via In Salah is fully financed by the national budget. The ministry noted that cooperation with international financial institutions remains active regarding other priority sections of this strategic infrastructure.
