The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the Colombian government's decision to establish an embassy in the occupied city of Jerusalem. Algeria considers this action an unacceptable breach of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, aiming to illegitimately alter the legal and historical status of the city. Officials in Algiers warned that this move undermines the two-state solution, fuels regional conflict, and hinders prospects for a sustainable peace in the Middle East. Consequently, Algeria has called upon the UN Security Council and the international community to fulfill their legal and historical duties by acting urgently to halt these policies that seek to impose a new illegal reality in the occupied Palestinian territories.
