Parliamentary intervention assists Algerian travelers stranded at Abuja airport
Several Algerian citizens residing in England experienced significant difficulties at Abuja International Airport in Nigeria, being prevented from boarding their return flight. According to the travelers, they faced abusive conduct from a Nigerian border police officer, which led to them being held in airport police facilities. One of the affected individuals reached out to Chérifi Abdelmalek, a member of parliament representing the Algerian diaspora. Upon receiving the report, the MP coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Algerian Embassy in Nigeria to manage the crisis. Through this diplomatic intervention, the necessary procedures were facilitated, successfully allowing the Algerian nationals to conclude their travel to England.
