The Ministry of National Defense has released video confessions from individuals who deliberately started forest fires across several Algerian provinces last summer. The suspects, who were employed by the public firm Agrodiv, admitted to acting under orders from the exiled figure Amir Boukhors, known as Amir DZ. According to the testimonies, they were promised financial assistance for clandestine emigration to France and sham marriages in exchange for their actions. The suspects confessed to using gasoline to ignite fires in the regions of Constantine and Guelma. The investigation further revealed that one of the individuals was put in contact with an official from the French Ministry of the Interior, who allegedly offered him incentives to establish a political movement. The reports also implicate Yacine Boulgroune, a man posing as a barber while holding significant real estate assets, as a key facilitator in the criminal network.
