The Prisoners' Information Office has reported a severe decline in the health conditions of Palestinian detainees from Gaza held in Janot prison, citing systematic denial of medical care. Many inmates, injured during security crackdowns since October 7, are left with untreated fractures and open wounds, with authorities refusing to provide even basic pain relief or necessary medication for chronic conditions such as hypertension and thalassemia. Beyond physical trauma, the prison suffers from dire sanitary conditions; shortages of cleaning supplies and severe restrictions on laundry access have led to widespread skin infections. These reports follow months of documented abuse, including physical violence, overcrowding, and the withdrawal of basic necessities. Given the deteriorating health of the detainees, the Office has called upon the International Committee of the Red Cross and global organizations to intervene immediately, holding the prison authorities responsible for the continued medical neglect and the breach of fundamental human rights.
