The wilaya of El Tarf has officially launched the plowing and sowing campaign for the 2026-2027 agricultural season. Efforts are focused on boosting local grain production to decrease import reliance. Authorities are targeting a total area of 13,900 hectares, an 8% increase from last season, with a projected output of 342,000 quintals. The Governor emphasized the importance of technical support for farmers and the timely provision of agricultural supplies. The cultivated land covers durum wheat, soft wheat, and barley. To ensure success, measures have been taken to simplify access to 'R'fig' loans and establish technical monitoring committees, alongside the activation of local storage facilities.
