Batna: SOKON truck production to launch next January

Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), announced during a visit to Batna that the SOKON manufacturing plant in Zana El Beida is set to begin truck assembly in January. All necessary preparations have been finalized, including the hiring of 450 workers trained through the vocational education system. The project, representing a 9.8 billion DZD investment, is expected to create 1,800 direct jobs and 4,200 indirect positions, stimulating the local subcontracting sector. Managed by Younès Merazka, the 13.6-hectare complex houses three production units for SOKON trucks and buses, as well as the HANOU brand. The facility aims for an annual capacity of 60,000 vehicles, with the primary truck assembly line now fully operational.
