Algeria uncovers criminal networks behind forest fires

A documentary aired by national media has exposed a malicious plot aimed at undermining Algeria's stability through the criminal forest fires that occurred in the eastern regions last summer. Investigations by security services revealed confessions from individuals recruited by foreign-based actors, including Amir Boukhors, known as 'Amir DZ,' in coordination with parties hostile to the nation. The plan involved exploiting the socio-economic conditions of local individuals to recruit them for sabotage missions. The investigation identified key figures such as Yacine Boulgroune and Islam Benyahia, who played direct roles in starting fires and coordinating with other figures like Larbi Zitout, Hichem Aboud, and Karim Moulai. Authorities emphasized that while these actors aimed to incite discord and chaos, the vigilance of the security services successfully dismantled these networks, ultimately strengthening the Algerian people's unity against external conspiracies.
