Following heavy rainfall last Saturday night in Béjaïa, National Sanitation Office (ONA) crews mobilized to clear drains and sewage networks to prevent flooding. The storm caused mud and debris to block National Road 9 at Acherchour, in the municipality of Boukhlifa. Thanks to a coordinated effort by the Public Works Department, the Civil Protection, and local municipal services, the road was cleared and fully reopened to traffic. Concurrently, several districts—including Akbou, Sidi Aïch, and Tichy—took part in the 'Environmental Saturday' initiative. This large-scale operation, involving various public entities, focused on cleaning public spaces and promoting environmental preservation.
