Algiers: Death penalty for three individuals involved in a major drug trafficking case

The Algiers Criminal Court has issued death sentences against three defendants in a case involving the trafficking of over 114 kilograms of cannabis. The ruling applies to the defendant "Z. Hachemi," who is in custody, and his two accomplices "G. Tamer" and "B. Omar," who remain fugitives. The charges against them included the illegal importation, transport, and sale of narcotics as part of an organized criminal group, as well as smuggling offenses threatening public health and security, and money laundering. The court's decision followed the prosecution's request for the maximum penalty for the crimes committed.
