The African junior and cadet weightlifting championships and the Arab senior championships concluded in Mostaganem, with Algerian athletes delivering a strong performance. National Technical Director Mohamed Bouabach stated that the Algerian team secured 100 medals, including over 50 from the African competition, noting that many athletes improved their personal records. The event, which featured high-level competition, was praised by African Weightlifting Confederation President Khaled Mehalhel for its excellent organization. Mehalhel announced that the Confederation intends to invite Algeria to host next year's senior African championships, which serve as a qualifier for the World Championships.
