Since July 19, 2026, the Algerian tourist allowance—set at 750 euros for adults and 300 euros for minors aged 12 to 18—must be processed via an international payment card. This decision, mandated by the Council of Ministers chaired by Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aims to curb foreign currency outflows. To qualify, travelers must stay abroad for at least seven days, excluding Hajj travel. Applicants need both a dinar account and a foreign currency account, submitting documents like travel tickets and income proof. Financial institutions such as CPA, BDL, BNA, and BEA have implemented various fees and issuance timelines for these cards. Users are encouraged to apply well in advance, as card processing times and specific banking conditions differ across the sector.
