Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Said Sayoud, has directed that vehicle import operations for private operators be moved from the port of Mostaganem to the port of Djen Djen in Jijel by December 31, 2026. This directive is part of an initiative to reorganize the national port system, focusing on infrastructure specialization and operational complementarity. During a government palace meeting, the minister ordered a broader redistribution of private import activities across national ports to improve capacity and efficiency. The move follows a site visit to Mostaganem on September 14, where the minister and a joint sectoral committee discussed strategies to better distribute port traffic across the country.
