Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mohamed Arkab, detailed his sector's 2026 achievements and 2027 budget outlook before the National People's Assembly. With hydrocarbon exports reaching $37.5 billion by September 2026, Algeria continues to be a key energy supplier. Revenue from petroleum taxes exceeded 2026 forecasts by 105%. Looking toward 2030, a $71.6 billion investment plan is set to increase primary hydrocarbon production, supported by projects like the trans-Saharan gas pipeline, phosphate development in Tebessa and Souk Ahras, and the construction of six additional seawater desalination plants. Environmental commitments remain a priority, with efforts focused on ending routine flaring and launching a 520,000-hectare reforestation project. For the 2027 budget, petroleum tax revenues are projected at 2,652 billion dinars, based on a reference oil price of $60 per barrel.
